Don’ts of Affiliate Marketing

Hello guys, Happy new Month!

We’ve talked about things that you should consider doing to scale up the affiliate marketing ladder earlier. This Month, we’ll be looking at some of the things you absolutely should not do as an affiliate marketer. The following are some of the “DON’TS” of Affiliate marketing:

  1. Don’t send Spam

If you want to maintain a steady flow of traffic returning to your site, avoid posting spammy content.

Now I know you might be thinking, “I would never do such a thing!”

Generally, any content that is irrelevant to your audience, or that your audience isn’t expecting can be regarded as spam.

As an affiliate marketer, you want to promote content that’s relevant to the betting industry like betting tips, betting tutorials, market definitions & trending topics in Sports.

The moment you stray from that and talk about music or food for example, your audience begins to see you as spam.

  1. Don’t violate company’s terms & conditions

Before signing up as an affiliate, you must have been required to agree to some terms of service document that dictates the rules for what you can and can’t do as an affiliate of the company.

It is important that you adhere to these rules strictly. If at anytime you’re unsure of whether or not to do something, inform the company before you do it.

If you violate or fail to comply with these terms, your commissions could be reversed, or you could even be removed from the program entirely.

  1. Don’t create fake content

Your customers need to trust that you have reliable information and that you are suggesting a bet site to them because you actually care about his needs.

Some affiliate marketers boast about earnings that they have in fact never had.  Your customers will eventually catch on that you are not a super affiliate as your social media bio says and that you do not in fact earn as much as you claim and they will lose their trust in you.

  1. Don’t expect quick riches

Affiliate marketing is a business model and just as with any other business, it takes time to build. If you stick with it, and treat it as the business it is, you will eventually reap the benefits and start to earn big but it’s not going to happen overnight. If you expect to start earning like super affiliates from your first few referrals, then you’re not probably not ready for this business.

Generally speaking, abiding by some of this don’ts could go a long way in keeping you in business as an affiliate marketer.

Our Affiliate marketing conference comes up this week, precisely on Thursday, April 11th at our Headquarters 22, Isaac Aluko Olokun Street, Igbo Efon, Lekki-Epe Expressway. Mark the date on your Calendar & plan to attend. Attendance is FREE! We’ll be expecting you.
